The late Russian trumpet virtuoso, Timofei Dokshizer (1921-2005) had a tremendous impact on the trumpet world. This lecture presents a look into the life and times of Mr. Dokshizer and his influence on performance and pedagogy. I have gained unique insights from some who knew him well including Anna Dokshizer, Ron Modell, and Emil Davidson (son of Louis Davidson). I have given this presentation at The Juilliard School, The Cleveland Institute of Music, The Eastman School of Music, Baylor University and the North Carolina School of Music.
